Involving Your Children in Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is often thought of as a holiday for adults or for people in romantic relationships but Valentine’s Day can be a holiday for everybody. Children often celebrate Valentine’s Day in school by giving Valentine’s to classmates. As parents, incorporating your children into your Valentine’s Day celebration can be a very important and meaningful thing. I remember when I was growing up my mother would always give me and my siblings some kind of Valentine’s gift (usually a stuffed animal or something of that nature). In addition she would write a special card for each of us that expressed her love for us. These cards were always really meaningful to me and really made me feel loved and cared for as an individual by my mother. I imagine the experience was similar for my siblings. This is a simple thing that my mom would do to involve her children in Valentine’s Day. There are certainly many other ways to involve your children in your Valentine’s Day celebration. What suggestions do you have? How do you involve your children in this holiday?
