Taking Time for Your Kids

Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of life, we can get so busy that we can be present with our children, but not really be there for them. I have often found myself caught in this trap. I can say that I will play a game with my child and then be sidetracked by trying to talk on the phone or check my e-mail at the same time. I realize that this is not fair to my child. This is not the one-on-one time my child deserves. As parents, we do have work to do and things that need to get done, but I believe it is critical that we set aside time each day to just be with our kids focusing all of our attention on them.

Please take time to read the following article from Child magazine: http://www.mindspring.com/~dgn/childart.htm. I thought this article had some very helpful information.

How have you ensured that you are spending quality time with your child?

What advice do you have on one-on-one time once you have more than one child?
