Want to instill the value of work in your children?

Have you seen this new program that was developed to catch parents up to the 21st century? (if you can't view the video below, click here)

On their website, they state:

Clearly, this is much more "up to date" with children and the media age today, and I think that it could possibly work well. However, I sometimes wonder what the world is coming to (forgive the vague, over-exaggerated expression). Don't we want children who aren't motivated only by rewards and punishments? In my opinion, I want my children to do their chores because they are part of the family and they want to help out--not because they will get 50 points for taking out the garbage, etc. Plus, will our children be motivated to work when they are no longer in our presence or receiving points or money rewards? I think job charts can be beneficial, but I am a little leary of focusing too much on rewards.

What do you think? Let's hear your comments!
